Orange Coneflower (Potted)

Orange coneflower delivers vibrant color throughout the summer, serving as a reliable source of nectar for butterflies and other pollinators. This hardy perennial is offered as potted stock grown in root-prune pouches. This production method supports a healthy root system, allowing for flexible planting times during the active growing season while minimizing transplant stress. Rudbeckia fulgida is distinguished by its longevity in the garden, often outlasting its relative, the black-eyed Susan. It is a low-maintenance wildflower that performs reliably in established landscapes. The plant produces showy yellow blooms that make excellent cut flowers for indoor arrangements. Orange coneflower fits well in pollinator gardens, perennial borders, and naturalized meadow plantings. It is hardy in USDA zones 5 through 9 and reaches a mature height of 2–4 feet with a spread of 1–2 feet. Orange coneflower thrives in full to partial sun and adapts to a range of soil moisture levels, from dry to moist conditions. Planting potted stock allows for straightforward establishment in a well-prepared site. With consistent watering during the first season, this perennial develops into a robust clump that returns year after year.
