DIY TIPS Most common ways of fastening the webbing include stapling the overhangs on the back of timber frame, preferably with a rebate and finish off with timber trim. For furniture restoration, clean out the existing groove from debris and fit the webbing with wood glue and new rattan core pith (usually 1mm smaller than size of groove). To secure webbing directly onto panel backing, use contact adhesive (webbing must be dry for this method). We recommend soaking the product in water for 15-20 minutes to make it more pliable and easy to work with. After fastening, the rattan webbing will tighten as it dries off. We do not recommend sealing the rattan webbing on the back side with lacquer varnish or paint. The back side is porous and it allow Sold on Direct Factory Furniture Australia (https://directfactoryfurniture.com.au/products/natural-rattan-cane-webbing-plain-natural-beige).
