Green Mandarin Essential Oil

Before mandarins develop their familiar sweetness, their young green fruit holds a fragrance that is brighter, greener, and distinctly different from ripe mandarin. areme’s green mandarin essential oil is steam-distilled from the peel of unripe mandarins grown in Vietnam. Harvested during fruit thinning, these young mandarins are typically removed to allow the remaining fruit to grow, yet their fragrant peels offer a valuable botanical resource. Unlike the sweet, juicy aroma of ripe mandarin, green mandarin has a crisp, lively character. Fresh citrus notes mingle with leafy green nuances and a delicate underlying sweetness, creating a fragrance that feels clean, light, and naturally refreshing. In Vietnam, the fresh scent released from mandarin peels is traditionally appreciated during travel, particularly when long journeys leave passengers feeling queasy or uncomfortable. The bright citrus aroma offers a welcome sense of freshness, making stuffy journeys feel a little more pleasant. Steam distillation captures the distinctive green character of the unripe peel, producing an aromatic profile different from the fuller sweetness of conventional ripe mandarin oils. Whether enjoyed in an essential oil diffuser or blended with floral, herbal, or woody notes, Green Mandarin brings a crisp, uplifting citrus freshness that feels especially welcome when the air feels heavy or a little change of mood is needed.
