Proso Millet - Chenna/ Barri Millet

The "Golden Grain" of Immunity Organic Proso Millet , known locally as Chenna or Barri in Hindi (and Vari in Marathi), is one of the oldest and most nutritious ancient grains known to mankind. Unlike refined grains, this millet is a superfood often cultivated in the dry, pristine regions of India where it grows naturally without heavy irrigation or synthetic inputs. This millet is distinct because of its short growing season and ability to thrive in harsh climates, which concentrates its nutrient density. It has a beautiful golden-yellow color and a slightly nutty flavor that blends perfectly into traditional Indian cuisine. It is completely gluten-free and is famous for its high content of Lecithin , which supports neural health. Key Features Taste Profile: Mild, nutty, and earthy. It absorbs flavors well, making it excellent for Pulao or Kheer. Texture: Fluffy and separate when cooked (similar to quinoa or high-quality rice), but with a pleasant grainy bite. Health Powerhouse: Known as the "Beauty Millet" because it is rich in antioxidants that support skin health. It is also excellent for strengthening bones due to high magnesium content. Specialty: It contains Lecithin , a nutrient rarely found in cereals, which helps strengthen the nervous system.
