Kintsugi 16" x 20"

Kintsugi is the traditional art of repairing broken things, generally in the mending of ceramics in a way that transforms the brokeness into beauty. The process of healing broken parts adds to our beauty and worth. I have created a collection of textile pieces inspired by this aesthetic. Made from 100% organic cotton that has been naturally dyed with madder root + iron and avocado pits. 16”x 20” Finished quilt it stretched on a wooden frame.
