JAPAN, PREMIUM PURE MATCHA

Matcha is one of Japan's most distinctive tea styles, made by finely stone milling shade-grown green tea leaves into a vibrant powder that is whisked directly into water. Unlike infused teas, the whole leaf is consumed, offering remarkable intensity, texture and complexity in the cup. This matcha is grown in Uji, Kyoto - a region long regarded as the spiritual home of Japanese tea production. Uji's combination of mineral-rich soils, cool mists and generations of tea growing expertise has shaped some of Japan's most celebrated teas for centuries. Careful shading before harvest encourages the development of sweetness and umami while preserving the tea's brilliant green colour and delicate aromatic character. The result is a pure and expressive matcha with a smooth texture, gentle sweetness and lingering savoury depth. Vibrant and well-balanced, it is equally suited to traditional preparation or enjoyed with milk and sweetened to your liking. Available in 500 gram bags.
