Heavenly Heeng - Silbatta Salt | Pahadi Namak, 100g

Pahari Haat Heavenly Heeng Silbatta Salt is a traditional Pahadi Namak, hand-pounded on a stone silbatta with real kabuli asafoetida (heeng), roasted cumin (jeera), and Himalayan rock salt — no machines, no heat, no additives. 100g jar, handcrafted by women artisans in Kasar Devi, Almora. Unlike commercial asafoetida powder made with machine grinding and often diluted with wheat flour or gum fillers, Pahari Haat uses a "sil" (flat grinding stone) and "batta" (stone roller) to cold-pound real kabuli heeng together with roasted jeera and rock salt — a technique passed down through generations of Pahadi kitchens. Every jar brings the authentic aroma and bite of traditional Uttarakhand cooking straight to your table. What Is Pahadi Namak? Pahadi Namak literally means "mountain salt" — a category of hand-ground, flavour-infused salts that have been part of Uttarakhand's kitchens for generations. Unlike ordinary table salt or factory-blended spice mixes, Pahadi Namak is made by pounding rock salt together with local ingredients on a stone silbatta, cold and slow, which helps retain the natural aroma of the spices. Pahari Haat's Heavenly Heeng Silbatta Salt is the asafoetida variant of this tradition — made with real kabuli heeng and roasted jeera, ground until the flavours blend into a single, fragrant seasoning.
