Hand Dyed Bandhani Silk Scarves

Hand Dyed Bandhani Silk Scarves

£65 / pcs

Product details

A beautiful 100% silk shawl in a dot design that has been  hand -tied by skilled Bandhani artisans of India. The term `Bandhani` is derived from the word `Bandhan` that means tying up. This is an ancient art found in records dating back to 4000 B.C. Each dot is the result of creating a tied resist to the fabric by tightly wrapping thread, slip knotting the peak and moving to the next dot on the fabric using a continuous piece of thread to create the finished resist pattern.  Once dyed the knots are removed individually by hand to reveal the design. The shawl was hand dyed using natural dye at the TirGlas dye house. Size : 112cm x 216cm (44" x 85") Weight: 26g Sold on TirGlas (https://tirglas.shop/products/hand-dyed-silk-bandhani-scarves). The price shown is the retail price on that storefront on 2026-10-22, not a GreenB2B quote or a wholesale price.
