Eggplant Long Purple Seeds

Long Purple is an open-pollinated eggplant for tropical lowland production. Plants set slender, glossy, deep-purple fruit around 22 cm long and 90 g, the size and shape wet markets ask for, and reach first harvest 70 to 72 days after transplanting with an extended picking window under good management. As an OP variety it can be saved and resown, and is available at bulk-seed cost without hybrid royalty pricing. Performance in any season depends on your site and management. Raise seedlings in trays or beds and transplant at 3 to 4 true leaves into free-draining soil in full sun.
