Dodonea viscosa cuneta ‘Wedge Leaf Hop Bush’ Seeds

Dodonaea viscosa ‘Cunneta’ – 5x Seeds ( Dodonaea viscosa ) Dodonaea viscosa ‘Cunneta’ , commonly known as Hop Bush , is a tough and adaptable Australian native shrub grown for its dense foliage, ornamental seed capsules, and resilience in harsh conditions. With its upright, evergreen growth, it is often used as a hedge, screen, or windbreak in both home gardens and landscaping projects. This variety grows to around 2–4 metres tall and features narrow, glossy green leaves that give it a fine-textured appearance. In spring and summer, it produces small greenish flowers followed by attractive, papery seed capsules that resemble hops. ‘Cunneta’ thrives in full sun to part shade and tolerates poor soils, drought, frost, and coastal conditions , making it one of the most versatile native shrubs. A reliable, low-maintenance plant ideal for erosion control , native revegetation projects , and wildlife-friendly gardens . Practical Uses: The tough wood was fashioned into tools, spear shafts, and digging sticks. Well adapted to Australian conditions. Sow seed on surface of a porous seed raising mix and cover to a depth of 1-2 mm. Don’t bury the seed. Water with fine mist spray to avoid moving the seed. Place in a warm shaded or semi shaded position to avoid dying out. Keep warm & moist, avoid drying out or waterlogging the growing mix. Germination generally occurs in around 10-28 days in the right condition.
