Buhera Basket - Small

Rooted in tradition and shaped entirely by hand, the Buhera Basket is a testament to the ancient craft of the women weavers of Zimbabwe's Manicaland Province. Named for the rural district of Buhera, each basket is tightly coiled using locally harvested cane and a weaving technique passed down through generations — the same method historically used to store and carry harvested grain. Today, these sculptural vessels bring that same quiet artistry into the modern home. The organic, vessel-like form adds warmth and textural depth to any space. Display one as a standalone accent or layer several sizes together for a more dramatic, collected look — their natural variation makes each grouping feel entirely your own. One of a Kind, by Nature Because these baskets are handwoven without molds or templates, no two are exactly alike in shape, proportion, or character. Slight variations in the curve of the bowl, the taper of the neck, and the texture of the weave are not imperfections — they are the mark of the maker's hand, and what makes each piece genuinely one of a kind. The basket you receive will be unique. How We Measure Unlike standard home goods, Buhera Baskets cannot be measured in simple length × width × height. Their rounded, sculptural forms are measured using a soft tape that follows the basket's contour — running from the center of the base, around the curve of the bowl, and up the neck. This contour measurement determines the size category: Small: 12–15" Medium: 16–19" Lar Sold on Creative Women (https://creativewomen.net/products/buhera-basket-small).
