Besan - Chickpea Chana Dal Flour

The "Golden Binding Agent" of Indian Kitchens This is home made chana dal flour called Besan . Chana dal is sourced from our farm where it is made in stone cold press chakki. It is pure authentic and completely home made. The Besan , also known as Bengal Gram Flour or Gram Flour , is perhaps the most versatile flour in the Indian culinary repertoire. Made by grinding organic Chana Dal (split brown chickpeas), it has a vibrant pale-yellow color and a distinctively nutty, earthy aroma. It is the ultimate Gluten-Free staple, revered not just for its taste but for its nutritional density. Unlike refined flours (Maida), Besan is a complex carbohydrate with a low Glycemic Index, making it a safe and healthy choice for diabetics. It acts as a perfect binding agent for fritters (pakoras), a thickener for curries (kadhi), and the base for India's most beloved sweets (laddus).
