#8B Chips Pea Gravel for Pathways and Landscaping

#8B Chips, sold most often as pea gravel, are crushed rock ranging from 1/2 inch down to 3/16 inch. The small, consistent size and loose feel make it one of the cleanest, lowest-maintenance ways to finish the surface of a landscape. It spreads smoothly, settles into a comfortable layer underfoot, and gives an instant finished look without the upkeep of a planted surface. Around the home it is a favorite for pathways, ground cover, and decorative beds, and it works neatly as fill between pavers and steppingstones where a finer material would wash away. Because the pieces are small and uniform, the layer stays tidy and easy to rake back into place, which keeps walkways and beds looking sharp with very little effort. Pea gravel is as practical as it is good-looking. The loose, open layer lets rain pass through rather than pooling, which suits the Big Island climate, and it pairs well with edging or borders that hold it in place on slopes and along path edges. For a clean, natural finish that holds up year-round, #8B Chips is a simple choice.
